Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PICU/NICU position at a teaching hospital, requiring Level IV NICU and pediatric critical care experience.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics PICU unit at a teaching hospital
- Patient population includes NICU, PICU, pediatrics, and ED cases
- Experience required with high frequency jet ventilator and oscillating ventilator for pediatric cardiac anomalies
- Epic charting system experience required
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week published schedule
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in NICU, pediatric critical care, pediatrics, and ED
- Level IV NICU experience required
- Documented PICU experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT or CRT
- NC RRT license required in hand (license required if applicable)
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Experience with medication delivery systems, nebulizers, and airway management devices
- Skilled in ABG interpretation and ventilator management including weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with ECMO and high-risk delivery assistance preferred
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care including intubation/extubation assistance, tracheostomy management, and oxygen therapy
- Administer medications via various delivery systems including MDI, nebulizers, and aerosol setups
- Support high-risk deliveries and protocol-driven ECMO care
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced rate
- Up to 3 absences permitted per 13-week contract with attendance monitored
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
