Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of experience and AWHONN Advanced certification for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• LDRP work setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Performs fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Administers medications including Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin)
• Assists with vaginal deliveries, epidural anesthesia, and pain management
• Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Performs antepartum care procedures including sterile vaginal exams

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Conducts comprehensive patient and family assessments covering physiological, spiritual, and emotional needs
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Delegates tasks appropriately based on scope of practice and individual competency
• Documents patient care and responses to treatment in the electronic health record
• Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with hospital, state, and federal regulations
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Candidates may only submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time
