Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a day shift hospital position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 7 rooms/14 beds and an average daily census of 10
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Requires working every other weekend
- Possible floating to Med-Surg and Ortho units
- Call required depending on patient census
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
- Experience with fetal monitoring, labor management, and postpartum care required
- Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and newborn care
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including circulating and scrubbing roles
- Support neonatal care including resuscitation, thermoregulation, and newborn assessments
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with all time-off requests submitted upfront
- Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence employees may return after a 3-month break if outside the 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers considered, though a seasoned traveler is preferred
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the system
