Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and WI or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Level III Maternity services
- Averages 120 births per month across a 23-bed unit
- Cares for all gestational ages including antepartum, mother-baby, and labor and delivery patients, excluding GYNE surgeries
- Patient ratios of 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for laboring patients, and 1:3-4 for couplets
- 12-hour day shift schedule from 7:00am-7:30pm
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Travelers float first to Gyn/mother-baby overflow
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system along with Alaris, Pyxis, and FHM monitors at nurse station and bedside
- Telemetry monitoring utilized on the unit
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with 4 years most preferred
- Level 3 OB experience required
- Labor experience and circulating c-sections experience preferred
- EPIC experience required
- Candidate's middle name or initial needed for consideration
- Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN needed for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across labor and delivery, antepartum, and mother-baby populations
- Unit support includes a charge nurse who rarely takes a patient load, 2 techs for the whole floor, and a nurse dedicated to drawing labs
- OB coverage available 24/7 with in-house anesthesia and day shift lactation RN support
- Orientation includes general hospital orientation plus one shift with a preceptor on the hired shift
- Schedule provided at least 2 weeks in advance on a 6-week cycle
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved
- Procedural-colored scrubs required
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
- Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
