Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a WI or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Level II Trauma Center hospital with Level III NICU and Level III Maternity services
- Average of 120 births per month with 23 unit beds
- Patient population includes all gestational ages, antepartum, mother-baby, and labor and delivery, excluding GYNE surgeries
- Patient ratios: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 laboring, 1:3-4 couplets
- 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 pm - 7:30 am), 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- Travelers float first to Gyn or mother-baby overflow areas
- No on-call requirements
- Schedule issued at least 2 weeks in advance on a 6-week cycle
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, 4 years preferred
- Level 3 OB experience required
- Labor experience and c-section circulating experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients and their newborns
- Support team includes charge nurse (rarely takes patient load), two unit techs, lab-draw nurse, 24/7 OB coverage, in-house anesthesia, and day-shift lactation RN
- Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Pyxis, bedside and nurse station fetal heart monitors (FHM), and telemetry
- Orientation includes general hospital orientation plus one shift with a preceptor on the hired shift
- Procedural-colored scrubs required
- Free parking available on site
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved per scheduling cycle
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
- Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
