Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and AHA ACLS certification at a community hospital and regional referral center.
Details
- Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in a 171-bed, Joint Commission accredited community hospital and Level 3 Trauma Center
- 40-bed unit with adult/geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- 3x12 night shift schedule (7P-7A) with 36 weekly guaranteed hours
- Every other weekend required, equating to approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- No standing on-call requirement, though scheduled shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice during the contract
- Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
- Uses Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Zoll defibrillators
- Medhost EHR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Recent acute care and telemetry experience required
- ADN required
- Must be able to handle a 1:6 patient ratio
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Preceptor and charge experience a plus
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active Nursys license verification required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Deliver telemetry-based nursing care to a mixed adult/geriatric population with acute and chronic medical conditions
- Supportive team environment under unit supervision
- Compassionate, positive, can-do attitude valued on this unit
- Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toe shoes not permitted
- Weekly orientation sessions offered
- Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local rate available for closer candidates
- Prior perm staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months is not permitted
- Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
