Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Stepdown position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and proficiency managing post-CV surgery and stroke patients.
Details
- Work in a 16-bed ICU Stepdown unit within an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes post-op, cardiovascular, neuro, full stroke, and respiratory cases requiring stepdown-level care
- Maintains a 4:1 patient ratio
- Utilizes Philips bedside monitors and Airvo equipment
- Documents in EPIC
- 12-hour night shifts on a 3x12 schedule
- Works every other weekend
- Floating required as needed
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (AR or compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- 2+ years of recent ICU Stepdown experience required
- Experience with post-CV surgery and post-stroke patient care required
- Proficient in titrating cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Esmolol
- Experience with Bipap and Airvo use required
- Must be able to recognize signs of a deteriorating patient
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs not accepted
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care to post-surgical, cardiac, neuro, and stroke patients
- Collaborate with a team-oriented, supportive nursing staff
- Black scrubs required; hoodies not permitted
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed, to be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
