Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with a KY or compact RN license for a 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients.

Details

• Work in a 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients such as CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op cases
• Patients are admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of hire
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong computer systems knowledge or ability to be trained
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with care team members

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across admission, transfer, and discharge
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams and delegate tasks appropriately to other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
