Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Echocardiogram Technologist for a day-shift cardiology role requiring OR/intraoperative TEE experience and a relevant cardiac sonography registration.
Details
- Cardiology General unit supporting OR, inpatient, outpatient, and cath lab cases
- Caseload averages 5 scans per day, ranging from 5-8 cases
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Weekend call required approximately every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing needs
- On-call duty required for one week approximately every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing needs
- No floating required outside of this department
- Temp-to-perm conversion may be available
Requirements
- License required if applicable
- One of the following registrations required: Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI, or Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT
- Current BLS certification required
- OR/intraoperative TEE experience required
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiogram, cardiovascular sonography, or equivalent program
- 1-3 years of echocardiography experience preferred
Additional Information
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and other cardiac ultrasound procedures per physician orders
- Apply knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to obtain diagnostic-quality images
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of studies in accordance with departmental and accreditation standards
- Work independently on assignments of limited to moderate complexity with general guidance
- Elevate complex or unusual cases to senior technicians or management for review
- Adhere to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as IAC and ASE
- Participate in routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures
- Communicate effectively with referring providers to clarify orders and ensure appropriate study selection
- May assist with patient education regarding procedures and preparation
- Hospital-laundered scrubs provided for OR; navy or black scrubs acceptable otherwise
- Returning CHRISTUS employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
