Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Telemetry Float for a night shift assignment requiring teaching hospital experience and prior travel experience.
Details
- Float position covering other inpatient telemetry units as needed
- Common patient population includes elective orthopedic, spine, GYN, and GYN/Onc surgical patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend/holiday rotation required
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Requires Epic charting experience
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required Epic EMR experience
- Preferred experience with Trauma Level I and II patient populations
- Preferred charge nurse experience
- Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Perform IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
- Manage wound care, isolation precautions, and respiratory support including oxygen administration
- Care for orthopedic surgical patients including total joint replacement and peripheral nerve block catheters
- Must pass two pass/fail exams at orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry/EKG exam, each with one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for exams
- Minimal RTO approved in December, with no RTO allowed on 12/24 or 12/25; preference given to candidates with no December RTO requests
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
- Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
