Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring an active MD or Compact RN license and strong emergency department skills.
Details
- Work in a combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12, 1900-0730
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within skillset, with travelers prioritized to float
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Setting includes STEMI and Stroke certified facility capabilities
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (AHA only for BLS/ACLS/PALS)
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological conditions
- Skilled in triage, PPE/isolation precautions, and emergency medication administration
- Experience with intubation, chest tube management, central line care, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
- Perform triage, 12-lead EKG acquisition, splinting, and management of dysrhythmias
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and administer procedural sedation as needed
- Must be comfortable floating within scope without restriction
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility unless otherwise specified
- Returning staff must have a 12-month break before returning as travelers; return travelers require a 6-month break after completing an assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO may be requested, with additional contract weeks required for requests exceeding 4 consecutive days
- One major holiday off may be permitted during the winter season
