Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical-urology Med Surg/Telemetry unit caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays
• Patient population includes prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgery, and thyroidectomy cases
• Administers Heparin drips as part of patient care
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other Med Surg/Tele units and across local campuses required

Requirements

• Active Iowa (IA) or compact RN license required
• 2+ years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last 2 years required
• Valid driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Tele required

• Contributes professional and clinical expertise as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Located at a Level 3 Trauma Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from travel assignments in other UPH markets within 12 months
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the designated November and December holiday blackout periods
