Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with CO or compact licensure for a day shift hospital position requiring prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Provides observation and inpatient care on the Med/Surg unit
• Adult Med/Surg patient population
• Day shift, 0615-1845, 3 days per week on a 12-hour schedule
• Uses Cerner EHR/EMR and Care Compass documentation systems
• Operates infusion pumps for medication and IV therapy administration

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 5 years Med/Surg or Emergency Room experience required
• Previous travel nursing assignment experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Basic computer and electronic health record skills required
• Ability to perform heavy work including lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, and assisting with patient movement

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, and reassessments
• Monitors and reports changes in patient condition, including cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Administers medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, and blood products
• Provides patient and family education on disease process, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning
• Uses SBAR format for care transfers
• Follows infection prevention practices and National Patient Safety Goals
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care
• Serves as a mentor to other nursing staff
• Works in a fast-paced hospital environment with exposure to communicable disease, chemicals, and physical strain related to patient care
