Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring flexibility to work between the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Cardiac ICU units.

Details

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center with a 20-bed PICU and 13-bed PCICU serving infants to age 18
• Patient population includes medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, oncology, transplant, burn, and neuro cases
• Unit offers ECMO and CRRT, with 8 PICU beds dedicated to cardiac patients
• Shared staffing model between PICU and PCICU with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• PALS certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited school of Nursing
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provides competent clinical nursing care using the nursing process for pediatric ICU patients with complex medical needs
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education based on developmental and psychosocial needs
• Candidates must be flexible to work between the PICU and PCICU units as part of a shared staffing model
