Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift hospital contract requiring advanced fetal monitoring and NRP certification.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Requires comfort caring for both mother and newborn post-delivery

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP (provider) certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• Experience with vaginal delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, and postpartum care required
• Skilled in fetal monitoring (EFM), medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline), and epidural/PCA pain management
• Certifications must be AHA or ARC issued
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and ID/security banding
• Maintain sterile technique for vaginal exams and assist with C-section procedures
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with any EMR/charting system accepted
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers not accepted for this role
