Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 4+ years of patient care experience to manage an inpatient and outpatient hospital-based clinic in a remote Alaska setting.

Details

• Manages a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic
• Coordinates an orthopedic specialty field clinic, including screening and prioritizing of referrals
• Village-based treatments require travel via small, non-pressurized planes
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8am to 5pm
• Hospital-based equipment includes hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, and electric stimulation modalities
• Village-based care requires therapist to bring portable equipment such as theraband and ultrasound devices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program required
• Minimum 4 years of active, full-time patient care experience required
• Previous managerial experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Alaska PT license required if applicable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work with culturally diverse and non-English speaking patients
• Basic computer skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to apply sound reasoning and problem-solving in complex administrative and patient care situations
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

• Supports medical staff and participates in interdisciplinary team functions
• Promotes a team atmosphere and supports professional development of department staff
• Oversees department financial performance, including revenue optimization and expense management
• Responsible for compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations governing physical therapy practice
• Orientation held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
• Hospital-provided housing available in shared units with private bedrooms (male or female only, no pets allowed)
• Flights to and from assignment reimbursed at economy level with proper documentation
• Open to first-time travelers
