Description
American Traveler is hiring a Circulating and Scrub RN for an Operating Room role in a rural hospital setting, requiring travel experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Rural hospital-based Operating Room setting
- Performs both circulating and scrub nurse duties
- Caseload includes c-sections, hand cases, podiatry, and cataracts
- Demonstrates proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, ENT, and endoscopy
- Straight day shifts with flexible scheduling options (8s, 10s, or 12s)
- 40 hours per week
- On-call required during the week only, with no weekend call
- Call limited to c-section cases
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (ND or compact) with no disciplinary actions allowed
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS as required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Prior rural hospital setting experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub nurse roles
Additional Information
- Provides safe, evidence-based care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Maintains sterile field, prepares instruments, and anticipates surgeon needs when scrubbing
- Coordinates patient care, documents procedures, and ensures regulatory compliance when circulating
- Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support positive patient outcomes
- Participates in emergency and trauma procedures as needed
- Assists with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, and orientation of new staff
- Requires flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes and expanded responsibilities typical of rural healthcare settings
