Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with broad surgical specialty experience and an active NY RN license for a hospital-based position in Rochester, NY.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 11:00 to 21:30
• Diverse caseload including ortho-total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Involves a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, bariatrics, cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro, plastics, urology, ENT, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
• Required to perform phlebotomy and IV placement as a core competency
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, ortho/spine, neuro, GYN, urology, ENT, bariatric, and general surgery procedures

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing support across multiple surgical specialties including general, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols including fire safety, laser and radiation safety, latex allergy precautions, and universal time-out procedures
• Responsible for specimen handling/labeling and administration of blood and blood products
• Teal scrubs required
• Minimal RTO requested for this assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay
• Previous employees must have at least a 6-month break in service system-wide before reapplying
