Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a broad surgical skill set across multiple specialties to support a diverse surgical caseload.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Diverse caseload including ortho total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, cardiovascular, urology, podiatry, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
• Call required
• Floating required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Extensive OR skill set required across multiple surgical specialties (vascular, GYN, neuro, ortho, general surgery, thoracic, ENT, urology, plastics, podiatry, and more)
• Experience with Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling, infection control, laser and radiation safety, and administration of blood products

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and/or scrubbing support across a wide variety of surgical cases and specialties
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Minimal RTO requested for this assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Previous employees must have at least 6 months separation from system-wide employment to be eligible
• Teal scrubs required
