Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry with active MA license, BLS certification, and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• May float to ED for boarder patients as needed
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with CBI, hemodialysis management, and renal failure care
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and surgical drain management
• Experience with total joint replacement patients
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry/med-surg unit
• Complete a pass/fail telemetry competency test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed
• Complete a pass/fail medication exam during orientation
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules as required by the facility
• Only one major holiday may be requested as RTO; may be required to work the other two
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with none allowed during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
• RNs must reside within 200 miles of the facility
