Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a critical access hospital, requiring MN RN licensure and at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a 34-bed critical access, Level IV trauma hospital
• Day shift (7a-7p) and night shift (7p-7a), 3x12 hour schedules
• Patient ratios of 1:3 on days and 1:5 on nights
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Required skills: blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, heparin and insulin administration, total joint replacement care, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, portable oxygen tank use, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: charge nurse experience, MS/Tele or Tele experience, Rapid Response Team use, colostomy/ileostomy care, and feeding tube management
• Pediatric and adolescent care competencies required
• One supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit, including administration of blood products and IV therapy
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since last working as perm staff or per diem to be eligible for rehire
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
