Description
American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of acute inpatient ICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- 12-bed ICU unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:1 for TTM/CRRT/IABP patients, 2:1, and 3:1 for stepdown patients
- Top diagnoses include respiratory, renal, and cardiac conditions
- Utilizes CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Arctic Sun, and ECHO equipment
- Manages ventilators, telemetry monitoring, and titrates medications including Propofol, Fentanyl, and pressors
- Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Every other weekend required per unit need
- Charge RN present on each shift
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient ICU RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition
- Develop, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document patient response to clinical interventions
- Provide patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and function as a mentor/preceptor
- Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
- Supportive team environment with a strong precepting culture
- Daily rounds conducted on the unit
- Galaxy Blue scrubs required
