Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for Labor & Delivery requiring 2 years of experience and AWHONN FHM certification.

Details

Labor and Delivery unit with 10 beds in a teaching hospital
Patient population includes labor, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and hypertension cases
RN to patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 per AWHONN standards
12-hour day shifts (1900-0700), 36 hours per week
Every other weekend rotation required
No floating required
No on-call or call back requirements
Surgical tech, charge nurse, phlebotomy, RT, and intensivist support available on unit
Fetal monitoring available on unit
Uses Epic EMR, Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and GE fetal heart monitors
Unit-specific equipment includes Novii, Neptune, Bovie, and Panda Warmers

Requirements

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN FHM certifications required
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
Epic EMR experience required
Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care for mother and baby, including delivery support
Facility has no trauma designation and operates as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center
Strong unit culture with departmental orientation including NEO and 3 days of unit-specific training
Scrubs provided on unit, to be worn only during shift
Free on-campus parking available
75% of holidays required to be worked
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be considered for this position
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
