Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring CA RN license, NRP certification, and advanced fetal monitoring skills.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Care includes antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patient management
• Performs circulating duties for C-sections and assists with vaginal deliveries
• Utilizes external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and advanced fetal monitoring techniques
• Administers medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, and antihypertensives
• Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and ID/security banding
• Manages postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and pain management with epidural anesthesia and PCA

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP provider certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for both baby and delivered mother
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with infusion pumps, IV monitoring, and PCA pumps
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Current certifications with valid expiration dates required (AHA or ARC)

Additional Information

• Comfortable managing both antepartum and postpartum patient populations
• Performs sterile vaginal exams and triages obstetrical patients
• Accepts local candidates at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract
• Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, with coverage expected for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
