Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care Cardiac Cath Lab unit within a Level 2 trauma center
• 2-bed cath lab suite averaging 8 cases per day
• Common procedures include cardiac invasive procedures (excluding structural heart) and peripheral procedures such as carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostics/interventions
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts with a generally 0700 start time
• On-call required with a minimum of every other weekend from Friday 1530 to Monday 0700
• Average call days including weekends is 12, ranging up to 18 depending on staffing, with a 30-minute response time
• Rotating holiday call coverage required
• No floating required
• Supported by charge nurse, cath lab/IR techs, IV team, 24/7 RT, and 24/7 pharmacy

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Candidates who do not scrub will be considered
• Copy of driver's license required, matching the legal name on profile exactly as it appears on government-issued ID
• Two supervisor references required at submission: one from within the last 12 months worked and one from within the last 3 years worked (peer or supervisor), including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures in a cath lab setting
• Facility-provided scrubs
• Floor-specific orientation typically runs 1-2 shifts depending on skill level
• Required to complete the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing, to be finished within 24-48 hours with up to 2 attempts
• Required to pass a sterile technique test (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) on the first day of orientation
• Failure of the second attempt on either the Relias exam or sterile technique test results in do-not-use status for 6 months with this health system in the Sacramento region and Arizona
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with this health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
