Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for a night shift contract position at a Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center requiring at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy Services unit within a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation
• Magnet designated facility located in Milwaukee, WI
• Patient population mostly geriatric and adult, with some pediatric cases in the ED
• Typical caseload of 10-15 patients for general floor assignments and 6-8 patients for ICU assignments
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to all units within the hospital
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Unit-specific equipment includes AVEA vents, Servo U vents, LPU 1200 vents, Parapack vents for MRI, and Hamilton vents for transport

Requirements

• RRT or CRT certification accepted
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Active license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills required include vent management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, a-line placement, assisting with intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Supported by a team of other RTs, floor RNs, and unit management
• Dayshift staffing includes 13-15 RTs
• Orientation includes NEO and at least 1 shift to learn unit flow
• Holiday coverage assigned as needed
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
• Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs must be any solid professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs

• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for this travel position
