Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)
• 13-week assignment length
• Experience required with Magnesium Sulfate drips and circulating for C-sections
• Floating to Post-Partum unit required based on patient care needs
• No block scheduling; flexibility with scheduling required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, VBAC management, and management of preterm labor and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with postpartum care including hemorrhage management and cesarean section recovery
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section circulation and recovery
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform newborn care including APGAR scoring, cord care, and newborn assessments
• Support patients with complex conditions such as HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
• Complete required orientation modules, which are signed off by facility managers
• RTO requests must be disclosed prior to consideration and cannot exceed 5 days per assignment
• RTO requests cannot be modified after initial submission
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
