Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 3 years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shifts available as 3x12 or 4x12 hours (13:00-01:00) on a 36/48 alternating schedule
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and MAB
• 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if from a high volume/trauma facility
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Experience with IV therapy including arterial lines, central lines, and blood product administration
• Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred Level II Trauma Center experience
• Preferred skills in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Preferred experience with procedural sedation monitoring
• Preferred neurological trauma care including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
• Preferred pediatric emergency care experience across various conditions
• Preferred psychiatric/behavioral health care experience
• Preferred orthopedic trauma and splinting skills

Additional Information

• Must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for a positive result
• Candidates should be prepared to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a completion plan in place
• License must be in hand prior to start date
