Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Telemetry RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of med-surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 19-bed Surgical Telemetry unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, and PCTs
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Day shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RN/LVN mix, and 1-2 PCTs
• Night shift staffing mirrors day shift structure
• Uses Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn vital signs machines
• Charting completed in Meditech EMR
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Floating required to Ortho Trauma and Inpatient Rehab units
• No weekend or on-call requirements specified

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty required
• Charge experience and preceptor experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform patient ambulation and PRN wound care as part of daily duties
• Unit culture emphasizes teamwork and mutual support during busy shifts
• Dedicated admission/discharge team assists with patient flow for Med-Surg patients
• Scrub color requirement is royal blue
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
