Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift contract requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Oncology unit within a hospital setting
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week across 3 days per week
- No on-call requirements
- Every other weekend and every other holiday shift required
- May float to other Carle Health system hospitals including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of oncology patients
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Implement and modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
- Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
- Collaborate with the healthcare team and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health facility
