Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMC unit requiring MD or compact license, 2 years of PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience, and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Step Down/IMC unit within a hospital setting
• 3x12 day shift schedule from 6:45 to 19:15
• IMC ratio of 1:4
• Floating required to Tele and/or MS units as needed (1:5/1:6 ratios)
• Every other weekend coverage required based on unit operational needs

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 2 years of recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Flu vaccine required
• Skills needed include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, cardiac drip management, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to stepdown/IMC level patients including respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and renal cases
• Holiday coverage required
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
