Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, with new grads welcome to apply.

Details

• Work in a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit
• Care for medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and significantly altered hemodynamics requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• 13-week assignment
• Required to work holidays and weekends

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans in accordance with the nursing process
• Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Provide patient and family-centered education throughout the course of care
• Local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for standard travel rate eligibility
