Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Care/Step-Down unit requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and ACLS certification.

Details

Work in a Pulmonary/Thoracic Intermediate Care (Step-Down) unit
Patient population includes intermediate medical patients, high-risk respiratory, cardiac thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and head/neck surgery cases
Patients range from room air to BIPAP or Optiflow support
12-hour night shift schedule, 7pm-7am, 3 shifts per week
No on-call requirements

Requirements

Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a comparable specialty unit required

Additional Information

Provide step-down level nursing care to a variety of complex medical and surgical patients
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Does not accept local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
Returning permanent staff applying as travelers must have at least a 2-year break in service
Time off requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer acceptance
