Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and accepting first-time travelers.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU
• Exposure to a wide range of patient conditions including ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, and fresh tracheostomy
• Epic charting required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher preferred
• BLS, CRT or RRT certification required
• LA State License required (License required if applicable)
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and oscillator
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, ECMO, and high frequency jet ventilation preferred
• Two recent manager references required

Additional Information

• Accepts first-time travelers
• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Administer medications via various delivery systems including MDI, nebulizer, and aerosol setups
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric ventilator management
• Participate in patient transport, both inter-departmental and ambulance
• RTO limited to no more than 5 consecutive days
• Accepts local candidates within 75-mile radius at local rate
• Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions
