Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a teaching hospital's critical care unit requiring 2 years of specialty experience and an active or pending MN RN license.

Details

• Critical care unit treating a variety of medical/surgical and cardiac ICU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with a free charge nurse
• Night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) or Day shift (4x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) available
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
• Level 3 trauma, teaching hospital with 317 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with a variety of med/surg and cardiac ICU patients preferred
• Skills in renal care (AKI, CRRT/CVVHD, hemodialysis management) preferred
• Cardiovascular skills preferred, including CABG, Impella, IABP, and post cardiac surgery care
• Critical care skills including ventilator management, CVP monitoring, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Submission of date of birth, SSN, and certification copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a mix of medical, surgical, and cardiac ICU patients
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local radius exception for this unit
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
• Returning staff must have been separated from perm employment (staff or per diem) for at least 3 months prior to starting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
• Completion of pre-start modules is required prior to starting the assignment
