Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory therapy unit covering adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Epic charting system required
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet and oscillating ventilation
• Manages airway devices including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Administers medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other aerosol delivery systems
• Cares for patients with ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and those requiring ECMO

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• BLS and CRT or RRT certification required
• LA state license required if applicable
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Experience with chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Competent in neonatal/pediatric equipment including bubble CPAP and high frequency jet ventilators

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• RTO limited to no more than 5 consecutive days
• Candidates within 75 miles are considered local and accepted at the local rate
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
