Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a day shift position in adult critical care, emergency, and NICU settings requiring 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Works in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU settings
• Epic charting system required
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Involves ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and high frequency oscillator
• Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Administers medication delivery via nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups

Requirements

• BLS and CRT or RRT certification required
• LA State License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher preferred
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation required
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures preferred

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
• Performs chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and patient transport duties
• Manages high-risk respiratory conditions including ARDS, ECMO, and cystic fibrosis
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• RTO limited to no more than 5 consecutive days
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
