Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry with 2+ years of tele experience and an active MA license for a night shift position at a unionized hospital.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Every other weekend required
• May float to the ED to cover boarder patients as needed
• Union facility; must be able to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with renal, GI, and GU care including CBI and hemodialysis management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath and total joint replacement patients
• Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and nursing care to a cardiac and medical-surgical telemetry patient population
• Candidates with prior nursing license actions are not eligible
• Required to pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry test at orientation with an 80% minimum score and only one attempt allowed; failure results in cancellation from the assignment
• Also required to pass a Pass/Fail Medication exam at orientation
• Pre-start and orientation modules required, with annual completion thereafter
• Up to 1 major holiday may be requested off, with the possibility of working the other 2
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius for RNs
• Previous staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system to be eligible for rehire
