Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a MedSurg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort with frequent floating between units.

Details

• 22-bed adult MedSurg Oncology unit that frequently floats to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratios: Stepdown 1:4-5, MedSurg 1:5-6
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
• Frequent floating required between MedSurg and Stepdown/PCU units within the hospital
• Uses Meditech EMR system

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across MedSurg and Stepdown/PCU patient populations, including cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and respiratory management
• Floating assignments made in accordance with facility floating policies and appropriate orientation to new units
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrubs required
• Holiday and weekend coverage expected in rotation with staff
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure to be considered
