Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med Surg/Stepdown position requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of med surg experience including stepdown/PCU exposure.

Details

• 4T MS unit - 29 bed general surgical and ortho unit with medical overflow
• Frequently floats to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Stepdown ratios 1:4-5, Med Surg ratios 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital, in rotation with staff
• Uses Meditech EMR
• No on-call requirements specified

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Travel experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Tele units as needed
• Comfort with frequent floating between units is essential
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel assignment
• Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
