Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring at least 24 months of recent med/surg experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Med/Surg unit (5E) at an acute care hospital in Des Moines, IA
• Cares for all types of med/surg patients with a patient ratio of 4-5:1
• 15-bed unit with remote telemetry monitoring (tele tech)
• Nights shift, 12-hour shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun), 36 hrs/week with option for 48 hrs/week
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend work as scheduled
• Required to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist) within contracted skillset/unit
• Uses Epic EMR
• Administers heparin drips

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience administering heparin required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience a plus
• Proficiency caring for all patient types within a general med/surg population required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation/reference from within the past 24 months preferred
