Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a Post Surgical Unit role requiring EKG interpretation skills and a CA RN license.
Details
- Post Surgical Unit within a hospital setting on a hybrid telemetry/med-surg unit (SCU)
- Cares for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac monitoring
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- On-call as needed
- Floating to other telemetry/med-surg units as hospital needs arise
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC)
- EKG interpretation skills required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Experience reading cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
- Experience administering IV cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem, as well as heparin and insulin drips
- Traveler experience preferred
- 2 professional references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Delivers and coordinates care addressing physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs of patients and their families
- Utilizes knowledge of physiology/pathophysiology, nursing process, and technology to guide patient care decisions
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff/travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to reapply
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, each beginning at 7:00 PM the night before and ending 7:00 AM the day after
