Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift Post Surgical Unit role requiring CA RN licensure and EKG interpretation skills.

Details

• Post Surgical Unit within a telemetry department caring for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• SCU is a hybrid unit combining telemetry and med-surg patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• On-call as needed
• Floating to other telemetry/med-surg units may be required based on hospital needs

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC)
• EKG interpretation skills required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Experience reading and acting on cardiac rhythm changes
• Experience administering IV cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem
• Experience with IV cardiac medications, heparin, and insulin drips
• Traveler experience preferred
• 2 professional references obtained within the past year

Additional Information

• Deliver and coordinate care for telemetry patients, addressing physiological, psychosocial, safety, and self-care needs
• Collaborate with care team using strong clinical and interpersonal communication skills
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request allowed
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
