Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, open to candidates with no prior experience.

Details

• Work in a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit
• Care for medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and significantly altered hemodynamics requiring telemetry monitoring
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• 36 hours per week across 3 days
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong computer systems knowledge or ability to be trained
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Provide patient and family-centered education and care coordination
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members' performance of patient care activities
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI monitoring
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
