Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 10-week night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring CT or compact RN license and SICU experience.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 10-week contract length
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to step-down unit as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or compact) required prior to start date
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Skills in airway management, IV drip titration, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Experience with arterial line and central line management
• Proficiency in ventilated patient care and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and vasoactive drip titration
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions
• Responsible for emergency response to cardiac dysrhythmias and other acute events
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
• No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Local radius restrictions waived for this specific 10-week assignment
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers accepted
