Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 10-week winter contract at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring CT/compact RN licensure and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• ICU setting within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 10-week contract length with an every-other-weekend coverage requirement
• Average patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Trauma Level I or large facility trauma center experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including those with respiratory, cardiac, and multisystem organ dysfunction needs
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• No RTO allowed during holidays, with a maximum of 5 RTO days permitted for this contract
• Local radius restrictions waived for this specific 10-week assignment
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
