Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring telemetry experience and a CT or compact RN license, with first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation
• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for post-op patients including CABG, TAVR, general surgery, bariatric, and thoracic cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
• Floating required as needed, which may include the Milford Campus
• Works every other weekend and rotates holidays per department needs
• Uses Epic for charting
• Patient ratio of 1:5

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though candidates with 1.5 years and Level I trauma or travel experience may be considered
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with cardiac drips, PCA, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Charge RN and teaching hospital experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and post-surgical care for cardiovascular, bariatric, and thoracic patients
• Part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Royal blue scrubs required

• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Previous staff must be separated from permanent employment for 2 years before returning as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
