Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 10-week winter coverage assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior chemotherapy/oncology experience.
Details
- Inpatient Oncology unit in a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts (0700-1930)
- Will work every other weekend
- Floating required as needed
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Epic charting system used
- 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage
Requirements
- Active RN license, CT or compact, required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care
- Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis, spinal cord compression)
- Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, and lymphoma
- Knowledge of psychosocial care including advanced directives, hospice, and patient/family education
- 1 reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct inpatient oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and care coordination
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only
- No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
- Radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
