Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring general OR and trauma experience and an active MI license.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center
• Primarily adult patient population
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Straight evening shift (11a-11p), 4x12 hours
• Weekend and weeknight call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
• Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required; compact licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and CAC certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• General OR and Trauma surgery experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)
• All required certifications must be obtained prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general, trauma, orthopedic, urology, bariatric, and robotic surgical specialties
• Support surgical teams in procedures including plastics, general surgery, trauma, and robotic-assisted cases
• Flu vaccination required with no medical or religious exemptions; allergy-free option available if needed
• All requested RTO must be submitted upfront with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after one year of separation
• Candidates cannot apply if previously employed by the client facility within the last 12 months
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Traveler pairs are not accepted
