Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for patients with Chest Pain, NSTEMI/STEMI, left/right heart cath, TEE, cardioversions, stress tests, pacemakers, AMI, Afib, CHF, bradycardia, AICD insertion, and SVT/tachycardia
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Respiratory skills including HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips; titration skills preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and post-MI care

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response for cardiac patients, including dysrhythmia management
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
• No RTO may be requested during orientation week or after the offer stage
• Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are released must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
